GROUP DANCE CLASSES

In Cuba, there is no separation between different forms of dance. People dance and mix Rumba, Son, Reggaeton, Salsa and so on. When you dance, you train in all and dance all. Professional dancers in Cuba learn first Son, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Congas etc, and then on top of that add the Orishas, Rumba, Arara, Congo and more. This gives them the "sabor", the flavour! Latidos Productions brings you the flavour, flirting, playfulness and seduction.. authentically from Cuba!

Latidos Productions offers various programs all of which include music theory and are a great workout!

NEXT TERM WILL START IN SEPT!
This new and exciting term will be all about learning how to add that special Cuban Sabor to your “playing”, emm...We mean dancing.

Cubans say that it is the man’s job to entertain the woman! When men play, they mix elements of foot work from Son, Danzon and Columbia to give them that special sexy look and feel, which entertains the woman and allows the man to show off his manhood.

The women on the other hand are usually busy seducing the man. They use sensual hand and arm work combined with a subtle and soft connection to the upper and lower body, affording them very powerful and feminine seduction secrets.

The Sept term will give you tools which will reignite your passion, because Cuban dance is all about the connection and the seduction. And what else could be more important to be honest? By Cuban standard – nothing!

We welcome you to a very unique Latidos term! The Cuban way!

Description of group classes:

Afro-Cuban Movements classes - This course is designed as a movement/workout class. You will move nonstop for the duration of the class and learn core movements coming from various Cuban dances. You will start with basic simple movements and work your way up to more difficult ones as you progress. The course is a constant flow from one movement to the other with lots of repetition. The course allows you to focus on developing core movements without having to worry about dance moves, steps or leading and following. Your movements will be enriched and you will develop upper and lower body separation, which can then be applied to various dance forms. It's tons of fun and a great workout. Each class will focus on movements and body work coming from the following dances: Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, Rumba, Reggaeton, and Salsa/Son. This class is great way to get in shape while having fun. It is the base body work which will make all of the rest of the Cuban dances  much easier but will also enrich your ability in any other dance form.

For those who have previously taken AFCM, we offer the possibility of joining the program after 5 sessions. The first 5 sessions will focus on body work of Rumba, Salsa, Reggaeton, Mambo and Cha Cha Cha. The last 5 sessions will take these techniques to the next level. You will see an option to register straight into the second part in the registration page. If you have not previously taken AFCM and would want to jump ahead, it is possible with instructor's approval.

Cuban Cha Cha Cha classes - Learning the base body work of Cuban Cha Cha Cha will improve your technique in other dances such as Orishas, Salsa etc. Besides that, traditional Cuban Cha Cha Cha is soft and beautiful with small body movements which will soften your dancing and make you toned. And who doesn’t want to get up and dance Cha Cha Cha when the music is on? The program will focus on foot work and body motion to make you dance with your whole body. Once you will gain the control, you will be taught variations and steps. For those who dance Cuban Salsa – the last class will be used to explain how to apply it to the basic Cuban dance steps, but the focus of the program is not on partner dancing.

If you are interested in this program please let us know.

Prerequisites: Must take Cuban Salsa beginner and Afro-Cuban Movements prior to taking this program. You can by pass this prerequisite with an instructor’s approval.

Cuban Salsa and Rueda from the first step in a fun and friendly environment:

SEPT Level 1 -
The program has been designed to fit into the style of learning and the ability of people outside of Cuba. The focus is on connecting you to the music right away, using exercises from the National School of Art in Havana - the best dance school in Cuba. The program will cover basic musicality, basic steps, how to move around the dance floor with a partner, how to dominate turns and the basics of Rueda. With these basics you will be able to start dancing and having fun at no time.

NEW SEPT Level  3  - For our devoted Level 3 students and those that plan to jump straight into this level and join us for the first time, read the description of Level 6. We will focus on building more vocabulary continuing where we left off, while combining it with the simpler foot work offered to Level 6. To dance well Cuban Salsa you need to learn not just moves but also fun foot work and how to play. For the women, we recommend you also join the Women styling and Sueltas class this term to help you develop your seduction power, beyond the partnering and combos.

NEW SEPT Level  6 - If you’ve made it this far to level 6, or about to join us for the first time straight into this level, you are no doubt an addict. And for that we’d like to reward you with an incredible term full of goodies. Level 6 has new combinations which are more complex and playful, and for the first time we will teach the guys foot work coming from Son, Danzon and Columbia which will give them that extra something that makes Cubans so sexy and playful when they lead. Women, we invite you to also take the Women Styling class and Sueltas class offered this term. It will enhance your seduction power to match the guys’ playful attitude, while you are learning new and fun combos.

Prerequisites: It is possible to request to enter into a higher level with previous experience. We will need to test your ability to determine a fit. Classes are recommended in high heels for the women.

Cuban Rumba for women only classes - Come and learn how to play the game of Rumba, the game of seduction between the hen and the rooster. Learn how to be grounded and seductive while keeping a playful fun connection. This course will add flavour to your dancing and teach you how to tease and have a sexy attitude in your dancing.

Yambu -
To dance well, as a female dancer, you need to concur your sensual side and femininity, plus add a spice of seduction to it. Yambu, the most sensual of all the types of Rumba (Yambu, Guaguanco and Columbia), is a story of seduction between the man and the woman, that’s slow and tempting. Each part of the body has to be coordinated and controlled with such intricate movements yet kept loose as in all the Afro-Cuban dances, to truly encompass the emotion and sensitivity of the dance. It will not just transform your dancing, but it will also add something beautiful and soft to your life. This is also where you need to start if you want to move on to Guaguanco later on.

Check out the Chen Lizra's Blog to find out more about the "chicken dance."

Ochun is the saint of Love and sweet waters, etc. In this program we will explore various toques coming from various Orishas. This program will teach you the specific toque with a few variations and will generate the kind of looseness that comes from Afro-Cuban dances, which can then be brought into the rest of the Cuban dance styles. The idea is to build on top of what you learned from the previous class and expand on it with lots of repetition, till your body will absorb it. The program will give you better body control; you will learn what to do with these techniques and how to apply them to get great and sexy motion.
The program includes Folklore sessions in order to develop sentiment and the story of seduction in your dancing. The material is applicable to club setting and we highly recommend you try it on the dance floor. (Highly recommended to take the Women Styling - arm/hand work at the same time).

NEW Intermediate Reggaeton Women Only: As our tradition in each year after our Cuban summer trip, we bring new material for the academy - a whole new program and new moves straight from dancers in the National Folklore Group of Cuba.
How about some sensual sexiness for those who can’t get enough of Reggaeton? This term will be all about the styling. To give you that extra something we will focus on 2-3 new moves and teach you how to do them with all the exact upper and lower body motion, and arm/hand styling. We’ll train you as professional dancers train in Cuba. We want to challenge you so that your body motion will really shift and feel suave. We want to give you that special flavor that makes Cuban Reggaeton so infamous.  How can you resist such a sexy offer?

Prerequisites: Previously taken the Latidos beginner or one of the INT Reggaeton programs. Or with instructor's approval with previous dance experience.

Beginner Reggaeton Men
Only - this great new program is taught by a new instructor who's been training with instructors in the National Folklore Group in Cuba. NEW Sueltas & Women Styling -This term we are offering a new way of approaching Sueltas and styling. Instead of filling your brain with foot work, we will teach you simple to complex movements with full body integration, including body movement/intention, and arm/hand styling. Each move will have that special Cuban sexiness with the right intention, leading to a full choreography.
We will also focus on how to stylize your hands and arms which can then be applied directly to Salsa and Reggaeton, and will help you with other dances.
We will also cover upper and lower body exercises which will show you how to connect the arm/hand motion to your body in order to get a sexy impact. This is the first step necessary for developing that special feminine seduction power coming from the right body intention.

Sueltas are great for dancing to the music with no partner, adding that extra touch to your solo section when your partner lets go of you, and adding fun foot work to match the playfulness of the guy leading you.
